TOBY SHAER, ARCHIE MOSS AND JACK WARNOCK
Toby has worked with Jack Warnock and Archie Churchill-Moss since 2019. In 2025, the three acclaimed session musicians formed a new trio, united by a shared passion for the traditional music of England, Scotland, Ireland, and mainland Europe. Their performances combine exceptional musicianship with thoughtful, contemporary interpretations of traditional repertoire. The trio will embark on their debut UK tour in November 2026, performing sixteen concerts across England and Scotland.

CARA DILLON
Since 2017, Toby has been a regular member of Cara Dillon’s live band, working closely with both Cara and her husband, Sam Lakeman. His performances span intimate trio concerts through to full-band festival appearances, most recently as part of Cara’s critically acclaimed Coming Home tour, which included performances at Belfast’s Grand Opera House, Edinburgh’s Queen’s Hall, and London’s Cadogan Hall. Toby has toured extensively with Cara throughout the UK and Europe and was part of her tour of China in 2017.

JOHN MCCUSKER
For more than a decade, Toby has been closely involved in a numerous array of John McCusker’s touring and recording projects. He joined John’s 25th Anniversary Tour in 2015 and returned for the 30th Anniversary Tour in 2022, which was postponed from 2020 due to the pandemic. More recently, he has performed as part of the John McCusker Trio alongside Sam Kelly, completing a twenty-two-date UK tour, with further performances in Switzerland and Denmark planned for 2027. Toby is also a regular member of the house band for John McCusker’s annual Southside of the Tracks concerts at Edinburgh’s Queen’s Hall. His recording credits with John include Hello, Goodbye (2016) and the John McCusker Trio EP (2026).

SAM KELLY
Toby has worked alongside singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Sam Kelly since 2015. He joined Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys in 2016 and has remained a central part of Sam’s musical projects ever since. Together they have also performed as the backing band for Ainsley Hamill and as members of the John McCusker Trio. Toby appears on three of Sam’s albums: Pretty Peggy (2017), The Wishing Tree (2023), and Dreamers Dawn (2025). Sam also co-produced Toby’s debut solo album, Amalgam (2026).

HEIDI TALBOT
Since 2016, Toby has enjoyed a long-standing musical partnership with Irish singer-songwriter Heidi Talbot, performing throughout the UK, Europe, and North America at concerts and festivals. He appears on Heidi’s albums Here We Go 1, 2, 3 (2016) and Grace Untold (2025), and has remained a regular member of her touring band for the past decade. Most recently, the pair toured as a duo in support of Grace Untold.

AINSLEY HAMILL
Toby first collaborated with Scottish singer-songwriter Ainsley Hamill in 2018, and the pair have worked closely together ever since. In 2019, Toby produced Ainsley’s EP Belle of the Ball, before contributing extensively to her album Fable (2025). Alongside their individual projects, they were both members of The Yellow House Band, formed to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Denmark’s Yellow House Booking Agency.

HONEY & THE BEAR
In 2018, Toby joined Suffolk folk duo Honey and the Bear (Jon and Lucy Hart), becoming an integral part of both their live performances and studio recordings. He has appeared on each of their four studio albums: Made in the Aker (2019), Journey Through the Roke (2021), Away Beyond the Fret (2023), and A Wish and a Tide (2026). Toby has toured extensively with the duo throughout the UK, including numerous performances at Benjamin Britten’s renowned Snape Maltings Concert Hall.
